Architectural thermal lodge
This mid-century lodge operates as an architectural showcase, connecting experimental guestrooms directly to the historic thermal baths.
“Half buried in the hillside and constructed using local Valser quartzite slabs, the hotel itself was renamed 7132 Hotel under new ownership in 2012.”
What it’s good at

The outdoor thermal pool looks out at alpine slopes, and a light-wood studio provides weight benches and dumbbells.
The thermal baths

At the table
Two-Michelin-starred 7132 Silver serves seasonal tasting menus, and floor-to-ceiling windows in the lounge look out across the valley.
Spa and architecture fans will appreciate 7132 Hotel, in the Swiss village of Vals, which was built with the award-winning thermal baths designed by architect Peter Zumthor.
How it began

Vals acquired the bankrupt 1960s bath complex in 1983, commissioning Zumthor's baths before the resort was renamed for the local postal code in 2012.
