Michelin Selected
Michelin
This boutique hotel in a group of listed buildings has enormous charm, largely due to its high-quality interior with all sorts of tasteful details.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Alter Schulplatz sits quietly outside the front door, and the historic island harbour is a short stroll away.
The rooms
Custom trunk wardrobes stand against medieval timber beams. Top suites open onto private rooftop balconies with outdoor whirlpool tubs.
At the table
Chef Julian Karr serves multi-course tasting menus in the dining room, and pours wine from the owners' South African estate.
How it began

The medieval buildings were approved for demolition around 1900, but economic crises in the 1920s halted clearance plans.
