Inspired by the (what else?) classical Greek architecture and surrounded by olive groves, Amanzoe is set high over the clear turquoise sea.
Tucked away
A place apart: the property is the destination.
Speedboats depart for the island harbors of Hydra and Spetses, while the ancient Greek amphitheater of Epidaurus lies inland.
The rooms
Freestanding stone pavilions feature twin dressing rooms and sunken marble bathtubs that open onto private courtyards with plunge pools.
The pool
Bring a swimsuit.
The 25-metre swimming pool is lined in green marble, surrounded by daybeds and classical stone colonnades.
The spa
Private treatment suites open onto walled stone courtyards, with therapies rooted in ancient Greek Hippocratic medicine.
Gym and pilates studio
The gym looks out over gardens through floor-to-ceiling glass, alongside a dedicated studio equipped with Pilates reformers.
At the table
The Restaurant serves Mediterranean dinners on a colonnaded terrace. Inside, the bar pours Greek wines beside open fireplaces.
Deliberately designed like a modern-day Acropolis, Amanzoe is poised on a hilltop with wide-screen views of the rolling valleys and smooth seas of the Peloponnese.
How it began

Architect Edward Tuttle designed the hilltop sanctuary as a contemporary acropolis, framing panoramic sea views with classical symmetry and local stone.
“The Ed Tutttle-designed Amanzo’e tops a hill strewn with olive groves, looking on to the Aegean and the island of Spetses.”
