Charred timber lodges
This is an intentionally private mountain stay, running without common areas so days unfold without interruption.
What it’s good at
Notable
Four timber chalets built from family-grown wood reinterpret the traditional Allgäu barn.
Notable
Morning hampers delivered with Allgäu cheeses and eggs sourced from neighbouring farms.
What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
Andrea and Sebastian Linkemann built four lodges above Obermaiselstein in the Allgäu and named them after their grandparents, using timber from the family's own land.
Somewhere quiet
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
Oberdorf is a quiet farming hamlet above Obermaiselstein, surrounded by open meadows with clear views of the Höfats massif.

The rooms
Single-story Cilli lodges tuck an alcove bed under the eaves, while two-story Anton lodges keep their bedrooms on the upper level.
The outdoor whirlpool
An outdoor whirlpool sits on each covered loggia, heated year-round beside a private fire bowl.
The sauna
Every lodge has its own Finnish sauna, where picture windows look straight out toward the mountains.
At the table
Breakfast hampers arrive through a private wall hatch each morning, packed with freshly baked braided bread and local honey.
How it began

Opened in 2025, the lodges replace Anton's original Stadl hay barn, constructed from timber the grandfather planted decades earlier.
