HiltonTextile-block desert playground
Built in 1929 for wintering celebrities, the resort remains an energetic desert playground of geometric concrete pavilions, open lawns, and seven pools.
“The historic modern-meets-desert architectural style anchors it all, for a stay with a little more sentimentality than your average resort.”

What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
Also in Forbes Travel Guide, Condé Nast Traveler, Wallpaper* and AFAR.
This is old-fashioned resort hospitality on a grand scale, with a guest register that includes any number of presidents and Hollywood stars.
“Now managed by Waldorf Astoria, it recently unveiled a property-wide refresh, overseen by Virserius Studio and PHX Architecture, with rooms designed by Wimberly Interiors.”
Tucked away
A place apart: the property is the destination.
Piestewa Peak rises directly behind the grounds, and the shops of Biltmore Fashion Park are a mile away.
The rooms
Rooms have wall coverings embossed with the signature geometric block pattern, while standalone cottages open onto private patios with fire pits.
The pools
Bring a swimsuit.
Saguaro Pool looks out toward the mountains behind private cabanas, and Paradise Pool adds a 65-foot triple waterslide.
The spa
Treatment suites at Tierra Luna Spa align with the zodiac, and a resident astrologist reads birth charts.
The studio and baths
A mirrored studio hosts daily yoga classes, and outdoor hydrotherapy tubs sit surrounded by desert palms.
Dogs stay too.
The Spire Bar
An illuminated 30-foot spire rises above this open-air circular bar, ringed by fire tables and fountains.
Opened in 1929, Arizona Biltmore, LXR Hotels & Resorts exudes a singular, sublime combination of Frank Lloyd Wright-influenced architecture, art deco design and desert botanical chic, with a splash of old Hollywood glamour.
McArthur's Restaurant & Bar
The dining room serves New American dishes on an open terrace warmed by textile-block fireplaces.
At the table
The Wright Bar serves the original Tequila Sunrise across a curved counter lined with iridescent scalloped tiles.
How it began

Chewing gum magnate William Wrigley Jr. bought the resort after the 1929 crash, then built an Italianate mansion on the overlooking hilltop.
“The contemporary style that now dominates the Biltmore was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, who played a significant role in determining the hotel’s original look.”
