What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
One of Val d’Isère’s first hotels, the old Avancher opened in 1949. In its new incarnation as the Avancher Hotel & Lodge, however, it could hardly be more 21st-century.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
The front doors open onto Avenue du Prariond, a short walk from village shops and the Bellevarde ski lifts.
The rooms
Bedrooms set pale plaster against warm timber, and windows look out toward the slopes of La Daille.
The sauna and hot tub
An indoor hot tub looks straight out at the Face de Bellevarde, and a barrel sauna sits on the roof deck.
Restaurant Avancher
The dining room has served Savoyard dishes since 1958, with Chef Olivier Nuret preparing homemade starters and bubbling cheese fondue.
How it began

The original hotel opened in 1949 as one of Val d'Isère's first, before being torn down and completely rebuilt in 2017.
