Awasi Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina
Lujan de Cuyo
Vibe
Vineyard rows stretch toward snow-capped Andean peaks, where days unfold between private four-wheel-drive excursions and quiet evenings beneath starry skies.
“Andean vineyard hideaway”
Dedicated private guides, assigned four-wheel-drive vehicles, and personalized turndown treats accompany each standalone vineyard villa.
Working fifty-five-acre vineyard estate offering sommelier cellar tastings, traditional open-fire asados, and Andean foothill horse rides.
Spanish colonial curves meet earthen minimalism, framing mountain panoramas from private rooftop terraces and secluded vineyard grounds.
In Alto Agrelo vineyards facing the Cordón del Plata, forty minutes south of Mendoza City.
“Line-drive sunset views of the Andes are central to this vineyard-embedded lodge where tailor-made experiences on- and off-property distill the drama of Argentina.”
Rooms
Freestanding adobe lodges feature wood-burning fireplaces, outdoor plunge pools, and external staircases leading up to private rooftop terraces.
“Under her leadership, the lodge is entering a new phase. Infrastructure upgrades are underway to support Awasi’s signature private-guide model…”
Wellness
The dedicated spa pairs saunas and courtyard hot tubs with vinotherapy rituals, including grape-seed scrubs and antioxidant wine baths.
Backstory
Operating for over two decades as Cavas Wine Lodge, the Spanish colonial vineyard retreat joined the Awasi collection in 2025.
Eat & drink
Seasonal menus highlight estate garden produce and meats grilled over open flames, paired with regional vintages from the subterranean cellar.
The neighborhood
Set in Alto Agrelo, the estate offers easy access to historic Luján de Cuyo wineries and horseback rides into the Andean foothills.
The app
This is one hotel. The app has every one we rate, in your pocket, for the whole trip.
Our shorthand
What makes a hotel special, how well they pull it off, and what it feels like outside the door.
How well they pull it off
Extremely rare. Sets the global standard.
Brilliant execution. And we’re picky.
They did this well. You’ll notice.
A defining trait. Makes the hotel what it is.
The eight vibes
Architecture and interiors lead. There’s a creative vision at work.
The guest is conspicuously well cared for. Requests met before they’re made.
Rooted in place. Local character runs through the whole stay.
Energy and scene. Where the city goes out, whether or not it’s sleeping here.
A building with history. The story of the place is part of the stay.
Built around feeling better. Rest, sweat, soak, spa.
A hotel the city grew up with. Same rituals, same regulars.
A world of its own. No reason to leave the property.
Scene — what’s outside the door
Where things happen: restaurants, shops, people.
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
A place apart: the property is the destination.
