What it’s good at
What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
Once the property of the crown and home to an Earl and a Duke, Boringdon Hall still has a regal air about it today.
Somewhere quiet
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
Dartmoor National Park lies just north of the estate, and central Plymouth sits a short drive away.
The rooms
Turret suites sit high inside the stone towers, and older rooms keep their four-poster beds and hearthside bathtubs.
The pools
Bring a swimsuit.
An indoor pool is heated to 30°C, and timber decking outside holds a hydrotherapy pool with countryside views.
The spa
Twelve treatment rooms host GAIA Skincare rituals, supported by Finnish and herbal saunas beside curtained relaxation daybeds.
Gym and studio
Cardio and resistance machines sit alongside an airy studio hosting daily vinyasa yoga and guided stretch sessions.
At the table
Michelin-starred Àclèaf serves seasonal tasting menus under timber beams, and afternoon tea is poured in the Great Hall.
How it began

The manor entertained Sir Francis Drake and Sir Walter Raleigh at a banquet in 1587, following an extensive Elizabethan remodelling.
