Cap Juluca, A Belmond Hotel, Anguilla
Anguilla
Maundays Bay
Vibe
Days unfold at an unhurried tempo along the crescent shore, where barefoot living meets discreet service and sweeping sea views.
“Whitewashed Moorish hideaway”
Dedicated Belmond hosts attend to every request alongside beachside push-button intercoms and refreshing sorbet deliveries.
Whitewashed Greco-Moorish villas showcase domed roofs, horseshoe arches, and intricate handmade geometric floor tiles.
A mile-long white-sand bay offers cruiser bicycles, complimentary sea kayaking, tennis clinics, and four distinct waterfront restaurants.
Along the crescent sands of Maundays Bay, overlooking the Caribbean Sea toward Saint Martin.
“Add to that a sprawling complex of villas in a fantasy-world Moorish-meets-Santorini architectural style and you’ve got a recipe for an unforgettable experience.”
Rooms
Every room opens onto Maundays Bay with private covered terraces, four-poster beds, slatted shutters, and marble soaking tubs.
“This chic, sprawling resort is designed to ensure that you have ample space and privacy indoors and outdoors.”
Wellness
A rooftop plunge pool overlooks the bay from the Guerlain spa, alongside an open-air Arawak courtyard and beachfront infinity pool.
“Cap Juluca, a Belmond Hotel, is filled with domed roofs and archways that frame the sea.”
Backstory
Architect Oscar Farmer conceived the domed coastal compound in 1988, naming it after the indigenous Arawak rainbow god.
Eat & drink
Dine on Caribbean seafood at Pimms, Venetian pasta at Cip’s, Peruvian ceviche at Uchu, or beachside barbecue from a vintage food truck.
The neighborhood
A mile of white sand curves along Maundays Bay on Anguilla's southwestern tip, facing the distant hills of Saint Martin.
The app
This is one hotel. The app has every one we rate, in your pocket, for the whole trip.
Our shorthand
What makes a hotel special, how well they pull it off, and what it feels like outside the door.
How well they pull it off
Extremely rare. Sets the global standard.
Brilliant execution. And we’re picky.
They did this well. You’ll notice.
A defining trait. Makes the hotel what it is.
The eight vibes
Architecture and interiors lead. There’s a creative vision at work.
The guest is conspicuously well cared for. Requests met before they’re made.
Rooted in place. Local character runs through the whole stay.
Energy and scene. Where the city goes out, whether or not it’s sleeping here.
A building with history. The story of the place is part of the stay.
Built around feeling better. Rest, sweat, soak, spa.
A hotel the city grew up with. Same rituals, same regulars.
A world of its own. No reason to leave the property.
Scene — what’s outside the door
Where things happen: restaurants, shops, people.
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
A place apart: the property is the destination.
