What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
CARUS was restored with Göreme's narrow streets left open and running through the compound, keeping the hotel woven into the town's daily life.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Local dining lanes sit just down the street, and morning hot-air balloons drift across the surrounding fairy chimneys.
The rooms
Rooms divide between masonry houses and subterranean cave chambers, each shaped around irregular rock walls with tailored, simple furnishings.
The pool
Bring a swimsuit.
A stone cascade feeds the heated cave pool, lit from beneath turquoise water and flanked by simple loungers.
The spa
Treatment rooms set into the rock offer Swedish massages and aromatherapy beside a wood-paneled relaxation lounge.
At the table
Haruna serves homemade manti and regional dishes across an indoor dining room and an open terrace with firepits.
How it began

Architect Oytun Berktan adapted the vernacular stone houses and centuries-old cave dwellings in 2019, joining the scattered structures across open village courtyards.
