What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
Two generations ago, Casa Bertagni was a private residence; today, still family-owned, it’s open to the public as a six-room guest house, and is one of the most unusual small lodgings in Bologna.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
The Pinacoteca Nazionale sits just around the corner, and the surrounding university quarter is filled with neighborhood trattorias.
The rooms
Rooms take their names from virtues, furnished with mid-century pieces and family antiques. Temperanza includes an in-room whirlpool bath.
At the table
Breakfast is served beside pastoral murals in the dining room, or outside along the loggia overlooking the courtyard.
How it began

The grandson of the Bertagni pasta dynasty lived here alone before opening the family home to guests in 2015.
