Cheval Blanc Randheli, vibe
“The resort’s 46, palapa-topped whitewashed villas hover over the water or frame the lagoon or garden, infinity pool decks dipping down to the cerulean sea.”
— Michelin Guide

Rooms

Every thatched villa features seven-metre revolving doors, soaring cathedral ceilings, a private infinity pool, and custom yellow artwork against calm neutral tones.

“all of the spacious villas have lofty ceilings and multiple screens and separations between areas, which conjures up a sense of space.”
— Forbes Travel Guide

Wellness

A traditional wooden dhoni ferries guests to a dedicated spa island featuring overwater Guerlain treatment pavilions, a hammam, and a relaxation pool.

“The whimsical touches—turtles drawn in the sand along the path to my villa… are what truly give this place its character.”
— Condé Nast Traveler

Backstory

Opened in 2013 as LVMH's second maison after Courchevel, architect Jean-Michel Gathy shaped the remote atoll into a cathedral-scaled tropical sanctuary.

Eat & drink

French gastronomy unfolds at Le 1947 alongside live grand piano music, while Diptyque delivers interactive teppanyaki and Deelani serves Mediterranean seafood overwater.

The neighborhood

Scattered across Noonu Atoll, the surrounding turquoise lagoon offers unspoiled dive sites like The Dome, forty minutes by air from Male.

Our shorthand

What makes a hotel special, how well they pull it off, and what it feels like outside the door.

How well they pull it off

Gold

Extremely rare. Sets the global standard.

Silver

Brilliant execution. And we’re picky.

Bronze

They did this well. You’ll notice.

Listed

A defining trait. Makes the hotel what it is.

The eight vibes

Design

Architecture and interiors lead. There’s a creative vision at work.

Luxe

The guest is conspicuously well cared for. Requests met before they’re made.

Local

Rooted in place. Local character runs through the whole stay.

Social

Energy and scene. Where the city goes out, whether or not it’s sleeping here.

Heritage

A building with history. The story of the place is part of the stay.

Wellness

Built around feeling better. Rest, sweat, soak, spa.

Classic

A hotel the city grew up with. Same rituals, same regulars.

Resort

A world of its own. No reason to leave the property.

Scene — what’s outside the door

Lively

Where things happen: restaurants, shops, people.

Central

Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.

Quiet

Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.

Secluded

A place apart: the property is the destination.
