Art-wrapped atrium hotel
Modernist architecture gathers around a light-filled garden atrium, enclosed by glass panels depicting Polynesian waka arriving into Otago Harbour.
“Another 2021 arrival on the Dunedin scene is Ebb, with a striking modern design inspired by the land, sea, and sky surrounding the Otago Peninsula.”

Inside, as you’d expect from a hotel driven by design, the rooms are understatedly cool with white walls accessorized with light wood, designer furnishings and striking black and white bathrooms.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
The Octagon and George Street cafes sit two blocks away, making downtown easy to navigate on foot.
The rooms
Oak joinery and black-and-white terrazzo bathrooms define the rooms, which all open onto walkways above the garden.
Restaurant
Ebb-Kitchen
Green tiles line the ground-floor cafe. The kitchen turns out seasonal Otago breakfasts and local roasts behind floor-to-ceiling glass.
How it began

The local Cazemier family built on reclaimed tidal flats where Polynesian canoes once landed, naming the hotel for the ebb tide.
