“The hotel is meant to be a base camp for skiing, hiking, and fishing adventures, and the amenities were certainly central to the design.”

Also in AFAR.
The lodge itself isn’t shy about its retro inspiration, from its rough-hewn timber furniture to its hunting-lodge décor and its mid-century graphic sensibility.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Downtown Main Street sits one mile south, and the ski slopes of Bridger Bowl lie directly to the north.
The rooms
Pegboard walls hold outdoor gear, and wool camp blankets cover the beds. Dedicated bunk rooms sleep traveling groups.
The indoor pool
Bring a swimsuit.
Cushioned daybeds and hanging ferns line the heated indoor pool, looking out through tall windows to the courtyard lawn.
At the table
Dry Fly Saloon serves regional Montana dishes under a ceiling of vintage magazines, and The Honey Hole pours late-night drinks.
How it began

The lodge transformed a former roadside Holiday Inn into the flagship property for the 150-year-old American outfitter.
