Minimalist alpine lodge
A quiet, contemplative stillness settles among the high pines, where mountain air, crackling hearths, and wide mountain panoramas define daily rhythms.
“Forestis is a benchmark for contemporary Alpine hospitality with its clarity of design, deep connection to place…”

The interior design makes the most of the location; guest rooms are bathed in natural light, thanks to picture windows…
“three sleek, modern towers house the 62 suites, which feature floor-to-ceiling glass walls that frame views of the surrounding forest.”
Tucked away
A place apart: the property is the destination.
Ski runs and high-alpine trails start right outside, winding through dense pine forests 1,800 meters above the valley floor of Bressanone.
The rooms
Floor-to-ceiling glass frames the wilderness from bed in suites detailed with scented local spruce, beeswax-rubbed Dolomite stone, and private sun balconies.
The pool
Bring a swimsuit.
Heated indoor and outdoor pools are fed by mountain spring water, looking straight onto the pine forest and craggy peaks.
The spa
Treatment rooms look out at the peaks, using botanical oils infused with mountain pine, spruce, and larch.
The gym
A minimalist timber-floored studio is equipped with free weights and TRX straps.
Dogs stay too.
At the table
Tiered curved booths face the Dolomite peaks, where dinner menus draw on foraged alpine botanicals and local produce.
Every element of the pared-back interiors was sourced from South Tyrol, from the Dolomite stone in the tactile bathrooms…to the oatmeal-coloured fabrics.
How it began

Conceived in 1912 as an Austro-Hungarian sanatorium, the dormant mountain site was revived by the local Hinteregger family a century later.
“A summit-perched sanctuary 1800m up in the mountains of the South Tyrol, Forestis Dolomites gazes out over acres of forests…”
