Vibe
A grand Beaux-Arts limestone palace on Azneft Square, where marble floors, towering floral displays, and crystal chandeliers set a regal tone.
“Beaux-Arts waterfront outpost”
Dedicated concierge teams arrange private Old City excursions alongside 24-hour room service, house cars, and evening turndown.
French Beaux-Arts architecture clad in pale mountain limestone, with Richmond International interiors centered on polished marble and crystal chandeliers.
A vaulted Roman-style pool beneath a glass roof, paired with penthouse Turkish hammams and heated ceramic loungers.
On the Caspian Sea waterfront promenade at Azneft Square, adjacent to the historic Old City gates.
Rooms
Spacious rooms open to private balconies framing Caspian Sea or Old City views, finished with wingback chairs and deep marble soaking tubs.
“It’s a Beaux Arts monument with a view across a park to the Caspian Sea, and it’s central enough…”
Wellness
Swim beneath mosaic columns and a vaulted glass atrium on the seventh floor, or visit penthouse hammams for saffron oil rituals.
“a gorgeous beaux-arts facade presents a regal first impression, further enhanced by a classic marble-clad lobby punctuated by towering flower arrangements…”
Backstory
London architects ReardonSmith modelled the pale limestone exterior on nineteenth-century French mansions, reorienting the entrance toward the Caspian waterfront.
“The ornate Beaux Arts-style building sits on the stroll-friendly Azneft Square, and has the look and feel of an hôtel particulier.”
Eat & drink
Dine on handmade pasta beneath Zafferano's vaulted ceilings, sip rare single malts at Bentley's, or share shisha on Eyvan Terrace.
The neighborhood
Step straight onto the waterfront promenade along Azneft Square, with the stone gates of Baku's medieval Old City right next door.
The app
This is one hotel. The app has every one we rate, in your pocket, for the whole trip.
Our shorthand
What makes a hotel special, how well they pull it off, and what it feels like outside the door.
How well they pull it off
Extremely rare. Sets the global standard.
Brilliant execution. And we’re picky.
They did this well. You’ll notice.
A defining trait. Makes the hotel what it is.
The eight vibes
Architecture and interiors lead. There’s a creative vision at work.
The guest is conspicuously well cared for. Requests met before they’re made.
Rooted in place. Local character runs through the whole stay.
Energy and scene. Where the city goes out, whether or not it’s sleeping here.
A building with history. The story of the place is part of the stay.
Built around feeling better. Rest, sweat, soak, spa.
A hotel the city grew up with. Same rituals, same regulars.
A world of its own. No reason to leave the property.
Scene — what’s outside the door
Where things happen: restaurants, shops, people.
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
A place apart: the property is the destination.
