Muted fabrics and warm timber soften the raw brick walls. Many lofts draw in daylight through floor-to-ceiling windows.

Alternating foot baths line a curved mosaic bench just outside the steam bath and 90-degree Finnish sauna.

Slatted timber columns and exposed brick rise through the loft dining room, which serves seasonal regional dishes.

Leather stools line an L-shaped brass counter serving classic and seasonal cocktails beside low tables and plush armchairs.

Velvet armchairs and low drink tables sit beneath arched windows in the brick lounge, lit by warm table lamps.
How it began
Hotelier Kai Hollmann coined the name in 2000, punning on Gaswerk, German for gasworks, to mean guest works.
