Hope Street is itself a converted carriage works ... and makes the most of its architectural history — the spacious open-plan rooms have high ceilings and exposed brick walls and ceiling beams.

The London Carriage Works pours from over 200 wines, and neighbourhood spot 1931 serves hand-stretched pizzas and pasta.
Carved out of a former carriage works, all 89 rooms are painted white, with waxed-oak floors and exposed-beam ceilings that create a Nordic ambience and reference this port city’s shipbuilding past.
How it began
Workers restoring the 1860 warehouse uncovered an original painted sign, giving The London Carriage Works restaurant its name.
