What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
Its 124 rooms, each hung with an original artwork by celebrated Faroese artist Edward Fuglø, range from compact eco-friendly doubles to spacious suites with bathtubs, lounges and views over Tórshavn.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Viðarlundin park and its walking trails sit right next door, and the historic harbour is a fifteen-minute walk away.
The rooms
Basque-crafted STUA furnishings sit beneath custom scrap-fabric lamps, with original Edward Fuglø paintings hanging above every bed.
Saunas and hot tubs
Two dry saunas warm the changing rooms, and outdoor wooden hot tubs sit enclosed by slatted timber screens.
The gym
Water-resistance wooden rowers and sand-weighted dumbbells line the windows in the bright, self-powered gym.
Restaurant
Húsagarður
Breakfast spreads across a central marble island, and dinner brings Nordic set menus of local monkfish and braised beef.
At the table
The lobby bar pours organic beer brewed by a local Faroese brewery, and shelves hold three thousand wine bottles.
How it began

The hotel takes its name from the seafaring Saint Brendan and stands on the site of a historic Gundadalur farm.
