The rooftop sauna

The gym
The fifth-floor gym sits under exposed attic beams and skylights, lit by an ornate red chandelier.
Restaurant
Der Steirer
Illuminated wine racks line the vaulted dining room, where the kitchen turns out traditional boiled beef and Wiener Schnitzel.
Lobby-Bar
The bar serves evening cocktails and long drinks from a grey marble counter set beside a fireplace.
At the table
The in-house patisserie bakes strudel and Guglhupf at Kaffee Weitzer, where guests linger over newspapers in red velvet booths.
How it began

Andreas Haring built the property in 1872 as Hotel Florian, and its corner still carries a terracotta statue of the saint.
