On Cortina’s high street, De LEN is a contemporary timber hideaway built from reclaimed wood etched with local family marks.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Cortina's pedestrian promenade and bell tower sit a short stroll away, set against the towering peaks of the Dolomites.
The rooms
Bedrooms are panelled in fragrant reclaimed pine and fir, and Swiss under-bed panels shield mattresses from electrical noise.
The rooftop spa
Cushioned loungers look across the valley through gabled windows, and an open-air whirlpool sits on the top-floor deck.
At the table
The dining room serves regional mountain dishes in a four-course ritual, and the bar mixes alpine botanical cocktails.
Inside, the 22 pared-back rooms have been lined with reclaimed fir and Swiss pine, both chosen not only for their style but also their natural perfume.
How it began

The hotel replaced the historic Hotel Impero, rebuilding the property with salvaged alpine timber that still carries local family insignia.
“Run by Egnazia Ospitalità Italiana, the group behind the beloved Borgo Egnazia in Puglia, Hotel de Len is located in the center of Cortina d’Ampezzo, the Dolomites’ most famous town.”
