Minimalist warehouse lofts
The hotel trades Old Montreal's typical antique decor for open loft living inside an 1871 stone building.
“Inside, interiors are modern with open-pan loft-style rooms, polished concrete floors and 1950s Eames chairs.”
What it’s good at
Remarkable
Polished concrete floors and midcentury seating contrast with restored nineteenth-century cast-iron columns.
Notable
An 1871 carved-limestone textile warehouse built by industrialist Andrew Frederick Gault.

behind the 18th-century stone facade of a former carpet factory, you’ll find one of the most modern hotels in North America.
“The facade may be imposingly grand, but the rooms inside are modern and almost residential-feeling, with sleek midcentury furniture by Knoll and Herman Miller, while public spaces feature works by local photographer Valerie Jodoin Keaton.”
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Rue Sainte-Hélène remains quiet in the evenings, with the Old Port and Notre-Dame Basilica just a short walk away.
The rooms
Massive windows illuminate open layouts furnished with custom oak cabinetry, rounded beds, and Italian cotton linens.
The gym
Cardio machines and free weights fill a compact workout room set against mirrored walls and red accents.
At the table
Restaurant Gault serves brioche French toast beside tall arched windows, and the lobby bar pours classic cocktails.
The recently redesigned lobby sets the tone with a hushed, tactile aesthetic with lots of soft curves, warm woods, and natural light.
How it began

The building housed fabric showrooms and shoe workshops for over a century before opening as a hotel in 2002.
