What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
Modernist interior design, here, is used not so much to liven the atmosphere as to calm the mind; plenty of white space, with dark wood accents.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
The hotel's passage opens directly onto Calle Mayor, steps from the town hall below Santa Bárbara Castle.
The rooms
Ceilings rise over three meters, and neo-Gothic arched windows open onto French balconies above the street.
The rooftop pool
Bring a swimsuit.
Glass walls enclose the heated pool, where hydromassage jets and waterfall spouts run beneath a retractable roof.
The spa
Rooftop treatment rooms host rituals by Cinq Mondes, with bodywork inspired by Ayurvedic and Polynesian traditions.
The gym
Stationary bikes and treadmills sit on the top floor beneath wood ceilings, looking out across the city.
Fondillón Restaurant
Tables line the original stone arches on the ground floor, serving seasonal Mediterranean cooking and Alicante rice dishes.
At the table
Tapas and regional wines are poured at the ground-floor bar. Up above, the seasonal rooftop terrace serves evening cocktails.
How it began

The name comes from José Gabriel Amérigo, a nineteenth-century mayor who bought the secularized convent and carved an arcade through it.
