What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
The current proprietors have gone to great lengths to preserve those timeless details — original stone walls, gilt furnishings, fireplaces — while modernizing amenities.
Somewhere quiet
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
Town squares and historic wine cellars sit a short walk away along the riverbank in central Arbois.
The rooms
Suites keep their exposed limestone masonry and antique fireplaces. Large windows look directly onto the gardens or the river Cuisance.
The pool
Bring a swimsuit.
The seasonal pool sits on a stone terrace in the garden, looking back toward the historic facade.
The spa
Wide windows look onto the riverbank from the relaxation lounge, set beside a sauna and a traditional steam hammam.
Restaurant
Le Clos Alice
Herringbone parquet and velvet armchairs surround the grand piano, where dinners highlight local Jura wines and regional produce.
How it began

Owners Thierry and Alexandre Speitel-Gotz restored the residence in 2024, naming it in tribute to Thierry's mother, Alice.
