The name actually undersells just how verdant the adults-only Hotel Lemongarden is, its antique stone buildings surrounding an impressive Mediterranean garden right by the harbor in Sutivan, on the Croatian island of Brač.
Somewhere quiet
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
Sutivan harbour sits right outside, where wooden fishing boats moor along the promenade beside sixteenth-century stone fortifications.
The rooms
Each manor has its own character, from coral-red motifs along the harbour to quiet suites beside a secluded fig garden.
The pool
Bring a swimsuit.
The heated outdoor pool sits inside a walled courtyard garden, flanked by bougainvillea pillars and tall palms.
The spa
Treatment suites sit alongside sensory showers, a cedar wood sauna, and an Alphasphere room with acoustic loungers.
Restaurant Lemongarden
Tables run directly along the stone quay, where dinner brings daily local catch and house-made limoncello.
At the table
Guests gather around the Lounge Bar's illuminated onyx counter, and the wine lounge hosts regional tastings.
How it began

Austrian hotelier Helena Ramsbacher bought one manor as a private summer home, later acquiring the adjacent residences to stop commercial redevelopment.
