The Art Deco king of the Croisette, the Hôtel Martinez occupies a place of honor along Cannes’s famous oceanfront promenade.
In a lively part of town
Where things happen: restaurants, shops, people.
Boulevard de la Croisette unspools outside the front doors, leading past designer boutiques to the Palais des Festivals.
The rooms
Pale blue and yellow tones brighten the Pierre-Yves Rochon rooms, appointed with sleek white-lacquer furnishings and breezy balconies.
The pool and gym
Bring a swimsuit.
A heated lane pool tiled in Yves Klein blue sits in the gardens near an all-glass Technogym pavilion.
The spa
Seven treatment rooms include couple suites with therapeutic salt walls, alongside a hammam and a hair salon.
Dogs stay too.
Restaurant
La Plage du Martinez
Striped loungers and custom director chairs line the private pontoon for cocktails and Riviera dining over the Mediterranean.
Impeccably turned out staff whisk you through the lobby, where girls with sand on their linen shorts might be heading for a snooze, or smart business travelers mingling with a glass of Champagne.
At the table
Chef Jean Imbert oversees Michelin-starred dining at La Palme d'Or, and Martinez Bar spins rare vinyl late into the night.
How it began

The grounds once belonged to the exiled King of Two Sicilies, whose private villa was cleared in 1927 to build the hotel.
“French designer Pierre-Yves Rochon revitalised the Art Deco interiors, adding white lacquer furnishings, gentle curves and ultra-luxe marble bathrooms to the light-filled rooms and suites.”
