Hotel Nafarrola
Basque culinary farmhouse
Basque culinary farmhouse
Life here centers on Basque gastronomy, with eight guest rooms, an estate orchard, and tasting dinners across just four tables.
What it’s good at
Remarkable
Two Basque brothers orchestrate hyper-local farm dining and cellar tastings of regional Txakoli.
Notable
Pale Scandinavian-inspired furnishings contrast with the farmhouse's original exposed stone walls.
What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
It’s hard to imagine a hotel more steeped in Basque culture and history than Hotel Nafarrola… the interiors have been updated with sustainability and simplicity in mind.
Tucked away
A place apart: the property is the destination.
Pastures of the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve surround the estate, with the coastal port of Bermeo ten minutes downhill.
The rooms
Every room has a whirlpool tub set against exposed stone, and seven open onto private terraces over the valley.
At the table
Chef Gaizka Goikoetxea serves multi-course Urdaibai menus at ROLA, and breakfast tables look out across the rolling hills.
How it began

The site appears in municipal records dating to 1285, and its ruined stone caserío was thoroughly restored in 2021.
