Tucked away
A place apart: the property is the destination.
The Talvera river rushes right beside the grounds, and forest trails climb directly up into the Sarntal mountains.
The rooms
Interiors in the historic main house are spare and minimal. Next door, the Wood Hotel wing is lined with alpine timber.
The outdoor pool
Bring a swimsuit.
The outdoor saltwater pool is paved with oxidized quartzite stone, kept chlorine-free beside the timber spa pavilion.
The spa
Traditional wooden tubs sit outside for open-air bathing, and a curved timber relaxation dome rests beneath a round skylight.
At the table
Restaurant Alpes serves South Tyrolean tavern dishes under sloping timber beams, with wide glass walls looking out across the valley.
How it began

A violent storm destroyed the 16th-century bathhouse in 1846. It was rebuilt in 1897 with twenty beds and ten wooden soaking tubs.
