Fortunately, the design firm of Claesson Koivisto Rune overcame the obstacles, producing a triumph of Swedish style—a modest, minimalist, yet supremely comfortable property.

King Charles XII commissioned the barracks in 1699, constructed with recycled bricks from ruined Swedish castles.
