On a clean stretch of Khao Lak beach, ninety minutes from Phuket Airport, this is a resort of considerable scale: nearly 500 rooms, 11 restaurants and bars, and a pool that stretches 2.4 kilometers through the property

How it began
The original resort was destroyed in the 2004 tsunami, prompting a complete ground-up rebuild before reopening under Marriott in 2009.
