it’s got just twelve villas and suites, surrounded by shady vegetation, all within a stone’s throw of a central infinity pool, on a hillside overlooking Koggala Lake.

The rooms
Villas have four-poster beds and walled outdoor bathrooms, and thirteen open onto private plunge pools.
The pool
Bring a swimsuit.
The 20-metre infinity lap pool stretches along the lawn ridge, looking out across palm canopy toward Koggala Lake.
The spa
Set amidst the tea bushes, the hillside spa features an outdoor mud-baking area and massages scented with essential oils.
At the table
Open-sided dining pavilions look across the tea estate, serving Sri Lankan curries prepared with organic herbs picked on the grounds.
How it began

British designer George Cooper bought the ridge in 1999 to retrace his family's planting roots, initially planning only a private home.
