What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
Kosta is renowned for its glassworks and this stylish hotel which sits at its centre showcases some stunning glass sculptures, all of which are for sale.
Somewhere quiet
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
Pine forests surround the quiet village, and the working glass factory sits directly across the road.
The rooms
Seven glass artists each styled a separate corridor of rooms, outfitting the bathrooms with custom glass basins.
The pools
Bring a swimsuit.
Illuminated glass art rests at the bottom of the indoor pool, and Göran Wärff designed the outdoor relaxation pool.
The spa
Åsa Jungnelius designed the treatment rooms, and guests can unwind between saunas and a candlelit plunge pool.
Linnéa Art Restaurant
Artist Ulrica Hydman-Vallien decorated the dining room, which serves regional Swedish dishes beside windows lined with colourful art glass.
Bar
Glasbaren
Kjell Engman designed the glass pavilion around a 3.5-ton cobalt-blue counter, and drinks arrive in Orrefors crystal.
At the table
Brasserie 1742 serves multi-course tasting menus of local game and forest flavours from an open kitchen.
How it began

The project was conceived as Småland's answer to the Icehotel, expanding a historic six-room inn into a showcase for Swedish glass.
