What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
Also in Wallpaper* and AFAR.
La Reine Jane has presided over the port at Hyères since the middle of the last century, and from the outside it still looks as it did when it appeared in Godard’s Pierrot le fou.
Somewhere quiet
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
L'Ayguade's quiet marina sits right outside, and the local beach is a two-minute stroll along the quay.
The rooms
Each bedroom has an entirely unique aesthetic, and selected rooms open onto private balconies looking straight across the harbour.
Rooftop yoga
Vinyasa yoga sessions take place on the 200-square-metre rooftop terrace, with views out across the Mediterranean.
At the table
Mediterranean sharing plates arrive under woven pendant lights, beside folding windows that open to the water.
In collaboration with Jean-Pierre Blanc, Pirone took over the derelict La Reine Jane... and enlisted 14 designers to each give a room a distinctive makeover.
How it began

Built in 1948, the hotel appeared in Jean-Luc Godard's Pierrot le fou before undergoing an artistic transformation in 2017.
