What it’s good at

Christoph Ingenhoven wrapped the curving timber suites in untreated cedar slats and glass.
Notable

What they say
Also in Condé Nast Traveler and Wallpaper*.
The cluster of buildings—the newest of which has an indoor-outdoor saltwater pool and beautiful sauna—is interconnected, with free-flowing spaces adding to the low-key serenity here.
Tucked away
A place apart: the property is the destination.
Alpine meadows and pine forests surround the grounds, with walking trails leading up toward Mount Patscherkofel.
The rooms
Rooms use untreated wood and natural gypsum walls. Mains cut-off switches keep bedrooms shielded from electromagnetic fields.
The saltwater pool
Bring a swimsuit.
The heated saltwater pool connects indoors to out, steaming in winter against the cedar facade and alpine meadows.
The spa
Treatment rooms sit beneath circular skylights, and quiet relaxation lounges look out through floor-to-ceiling glass to the alpine woods.
The movement studio
Movement therapy and meditation take place in minimalist spaces where floor-to-ceiling glass looks straight out into the pine forest.
At the table
Prescribed Energy Cuisine meals are served in a quiet dining room looking out across the valley toward alpine peaks.
The new structure houses a collection of light and airy modern suites dressed in a soothing mineral-based palette and filled with sensory materials such as wood, stone, linen and loden.
How it began

The property opened in 1984 around the gut-health methods of physician F.X. Mayr, later adding Europe's first hotel sleep laboratory.
