What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
It’s impossible here not to feel the pull of hundreds of years of history — but like many of the most successful historical experience, it’s the result of quite a lot of contemporary hard work.
In a lively part of town
Where things happen: restaurants, shops, people.
Plaza Herrera is just down the block, and the surrounding brick lanes are packed with evening restaurants and cocktail bars.
The rooms
High ceilings and salvaged timber floors run through the apartments, and private balconies look out over brick-paved streets.
Restaurant
Mahalo Cocina y Jardín
The kitchen serves plant-forward plates in a courtyard strung with lanterns, and cocktails are mixed at the teal-tiled bar.
How it began

Pawnshop owner Clementina Herrera built the apartments in the 1930s, and her Parisian-educated daughter later hosted artists and writers here.
