Michelin Selected

Formerly an equestrian estate, it’s been redeveloped by a cutting-edge Parisian design firm, and the result is a hotel that’s comfortingly rustic and refreshingly stylish at the same time.
“Parisian design studio Be-poles—other projects include NoMad hotels in New York and L.A.—has repurposed several Fifties barns into bedrooms with waxed canvas curtains, Shaker-style furniture and Frédéric Forest horse sketches tacked to cork walls.”
Tucked away
A place apart: the property is the destination.
The Forest of Rambouillet surrounds the estate, with cycling trails leading to villages like Rochefort-en-Yvelines.
The rooms
Bedrooms have cork-lined walls and Shaker woodwork, with windows looking straight out toward the pastures and fishing pond.
The spa
Therapists practice Shiatsu and Ayurvedic bodywork inside the 19th-century watermill, and open-air Nordic hot tubs overlook the woods.
The Bar at the Bergerie
A fluted wooden counter sits beneath a woodland tapestry, and a white tiled stove warms the lounge.
Restaurant
La Serre
Long communal tables fill the sunlit glasshouse, and dishes draw from the estate's permaculture vegetable garden.
How it began

Horseman William Kriegel partnered with hotelier Édouard Daehn in 2018 to convert disused barns on his stud farm.
