A stone-built Zakynthian hamlet sits among ancient olive groves, unfolding around a traditional platia with a church, museum, and sweeping sea views.
“Designed to emulate a traditional Zakynthian village, the luxury Greek resort comes complete with a taverna, church, kafeneio… museum and town square.”
What it’s good at
Exceptional
Ioannis Kyratsous sculpted a stone Zakynthian hamlet with living green roofs and hundreds of replanted olive trees.
Remarkable
Three cascading cliffside infinity pools, a private pebble beach, padel tennis, and private yacht excursions.
Notable
Palatial suites and sprawling private pool villas serviced by dedicated hosts, private dining, and custom excursions.
What they say
One Michelin Key
Michelin
Also in Forbes Travel Guide and Condé Nast Traveler.
It’s a village within a village, namely the seaside hamlet of Akrotiri; the hotel has its own taverna, shops, church, café, and central square.
Tucked away
A place apart: the property is the destination.
Set on the quiet Akrotiri promontory, the grounds overlook the Ionian Sea just a short drive north of historic Zakynthos Town.
The rooms
Suites and villas combine pale marble, woven rattan, and stone terraces, while select categories add bougainvillea-fringed private pools facing the sea.
The pools
Bring a swimsuit.
Three cascading infinity pools terrace down toward the sea, and an indoor heated pool sits beneath stone arches.
The spa and gym
The spa has a Finnish sauna and hammam, and the arched gym looks out over garden greenery.
At the table
Dinners in the Bostani organic garden draw from estate-grown produce, and the platia café brews Greek coffee over hot sand.
Villas here spill down a 500-year-old hillside olive tree plantation (trees were moved, not cleared, to make room), and range from one to three bedrooms.
How it began

Opened in 2022 on the historic noble grounds of Akrotiri, the coastal sanctuary was shaped by Ioannis Kyratsous as a classic Zakynthian manor village.
