Six generations of the Meiser family have shaped this rural resort, where fairytale timbered turrets conceal vast thermal saunas.

What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
Its interiors feature traditional alpine elements, too, like exposed beams and stone fireplaces, but with a pared-down modern edge.
Somewhere quiet
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
Neustädtlein's quiet farm fields surround the grounds, and the walled medieval town of Dinkelsbühl is twenty minutes north.
The rooms
Rooms feature knotty pine paneling and plaid fabrics, with private balconies that look out across the surrounding countryside.
The pools
Bring a swimsuit.
Indoor and outdoor pools are kept between 30 and 31 degrees year-round, bordered by cushioned wicker daybeds.
The spa
An 85-degree Finnish sauna warms the thermal suite, and arched timber vaults shelter daybeds in the relaxation hall.
At the table
Pine-paneled alpine stuben and glass-roofed dining halls serve regional buffets, and an outdoor bar pours poolside drinks.
How it began

Before building the resort in 2003, the family ran a legendary 1970s dance hall and concert venue on this site.

The city grew up with it. Same rituals, same regulars, same bar.

A world of its own. Something to do from breakfast to nightcap.
The scene
Lively
Where things happen: restaurants, shops, people.
Central
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.

Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
