What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
The country counterpart to Berlin’s hip Michelberger Hotel is in the Spreewald, a little over an hour outside of town.
Tucked away
A place apart: the property is the destination.
The Spreewald biosphere reserve surrounds the farm, with flat cycling trails and forest canals made for canoeing.
The rooms
Cosy rooms sit under the barn rafters with king beds and low windows looking onto the forest garden.
The rooftop bath
An open-air bathtub sits on the viewing tower platform, looking out across the Spreewald landscape.
At the table
House-baked bread and farm cheeses line the brick island, and meals are shared beneath rows of brass pendant lamps.
How it began

Danish architect Sigurd Larsen replaced a ruined barn with new redbrick, adding a rooftop tower inspired by local stork nests.
