What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
Fender Katsalidis designed the nine-story building with a central garden atrium landscaped by Oculus; New York artist Thomas Bucich created a different bespoke artwork for each of the 199 guest rooms.
In a lively part of town
Where things happen: restaurants, shops, people.
The front doors open onto Braddon's dining strip, and the Elouera Street light rail stop sits right outside.
The rooms
Each room holds original artwork by New York artist Thomas Bucich and includes a walk-in rain shower.
The pool
Bring a swimsuit.
An indoor 20-meter heated lap pool looks onto the central atrium, flanked by private cabanas and a timber sauna.
The gym
Cardio machines and free weights sit behind glass walls overlooking the adjacent lap pool.
Midnight Bar
Under fluted glass racks and backlit marble, bartenders pour seasonal cocktails and house-commissioned beers alongside shared plates.
At the table
Braddon Merchant serves seasonal regional produce and Australian wines in a light-filled room set with raw concrete columns.
How it began

Canberra developer Geocon built the precinct as the capital's first Marriott property, wrapping private residences and shops around the hotel.
