The house
MarriottTarmac-view airport hotel
Everything centers on the top floor, where a round-the-clock bar looks straight out over the airport runways.
What it’s good at
Listed
Pentagonal ribbon architecture by JSWD Architekten echoes Paul Schneider-Esleben's neighbouring airport terminal.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
A walkway leads straight into Terminal 1, and the airport railway station connects directly to central Cologne.
The rooms
Rooms are compact and functional, accented with raw concrete and travel graphics across four lower floors.
The gym
A red turf sled track and a pink punch bag share the concrete-pillared gym with stationary bikes and treadmills.
Seven Hills Restaurant
Spherical paper lanterns hang above teal chairs and dark green banquettes, where dinner centers on German bistro classics.
At the table
Leather stools line the bar counter for evening cocktails, and the subway-tiled morning buffet looks directly onto parked airplanes.
How it began

The pentagonal building opened in 2021 over a former parking lot, purpose-built to sit alongside the terminal.
