What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
Also in AFAR.
The design was inspired by indigenous tradition, comprising a village-like cluster of low-lying buildings with grass roofs and native wood beams.
Somewhere quiet
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
Hanga Roa's harbor is a short stroll away, and town center cafes serve fresh tuna ceviche and warm empanadas.
The rooms
Exposed cypress trunks rise inside the rooms, and floor-to-ceiling glass opens onto private terraces over the ocean.
The pool
Bring a swimsuit.
Wooden loungers border the open stone deck, looking across coastal lawns toward the Pacific horizon.
The spa
Stone treatment rooms sit along white sand paths, and outdoor hot tubs tuck behind volcanic stone walls.
At the table
Fresh island seafood is served beneath spiral bamboo ceilings, and terrace tables look out over Pacific surf.
How it began

The lodge stands on ancestral land co-owned by the indigenous Hito family, whose ancestors signed the island's 1888 annexation treaty.
