What they say
UK Hot List
Condé Nast Traveler
2026
Wedged between two babbling rivers, Norden appears in a sprawling patch of trees and shrubs, circled by a stepping-stone ‘yak path’ weaving over small wooden bridges.
Tucked away
A place apart: the property is the destination.
Labrang Monastery sits a short drive away, drawing pilgrims to its vast maze of temple halls and prayer wheels.
The rooms
Reclaimed-timber cabins are dressed in local yak wool. Most have their own wood-burning yak-hair tent in the yard.
The bathhouse
Stacked slate and reclaimed juniper shelter six suites, each fitted with a private dry sauna and copper tub.
The yoga pavilion
The timber Dewa Space holds mats and bolsters for daily practice, opening onto shaded flagstone daybeds.
Restaurant
Main Dining Hall
The timber dining hall centers on an open hearth, serving bowls of mushroom noodles and fresh tsampa porridge.
At the table
Long tables inside the yak-hair nomad tent are lit by candelabras for communal hot pots and evening tastings.
How it began

Nomad-born Yidam Kyap and Dechen Yeshi founded the camp alongside their yak-wool atelier to employ local herding families.
