Here, on Hiroshima’s newly redeveloped waterfront, in the Onomichi U2 mixed-use complex, you don’t even have to step off your pedals — you can ride right into this cavernous space.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Set along the Onomichi Channel, the warehouse sits five minutes from the train station at the start of the Shimanami Kaido.
The rooms
Dark walls frame crisp beds and custom wall racks that let you hang your bicycle indoors like a piece of art.
KOG BAR
Bicycle saddle stools line the counter, where bartenders mix regional Setouchi cocktails overlooking the channel.
The hotel is housed in a complex that includes a restaurant for seafood dinners, Kog Bar, cycle-through café, Butti Bakery, design shop, and pro-shop.
At the table
The restaurant serves Setouchi seafood beneath warehouse beams, and Yard Café dispenses espresso through a waterfront cycle-thru window.
How it began

Built in 1943 as a wartime shipping warehouse, the cavernous shell was reimagined to mirror the narrow alleyways of Onomichi.
