Palazzo Fiuggi
Restored thermal palace
Restored thermal palace
The Art Nouveau palace operates as a medical facility. Guests in bathrobes move between clinical checkups and thermal baths beneath frescoed ceilings.
“At the heart of it all sits the five-star hotel and wellness resort Palazzo Fiuggi, on a peaceful, 20-acre, park-like property with tree-lined pathways and expansive gardens.”
What it’s good at
Exceptional
Roman thermae, diagnostic suites, and thalassotherapy pools fed by mineral-rich Fiuggi spring waters.
Notable
Dedicated physicians, clinical assessments, and nutritional menus developed by chef Heinz Beck.
What they say
Also in Condé Nast Traveler and AFAR.
The expansive (64,000 square feet) marble-clad spa includes three thalassotherapy pools, which use mineral-rich Fiuggi thermal water for its time-tested healing properties.
Tucked away
A place apart: the property is the destination.
Pine and cedar trees shade the eight-hectare private park, and the medieval center of Fiuggi is a short walk away.
The rooms
Bedrooms have marble bathrooms and tufted velvet seating. Selected rooms open onto small balconies looking out toward the medieval town.
The indoor pool
Bring a swimsuit.
The heated indoor pool connects through a glass tunnel to an outdoor pool, framed by white marble columns.
The spa
Diagnostic examination suites and marble treatment rooms host therapies ranging from Ayurvedic bodywork to medical cryotherapy.
The gym and thermae
The former ballroom houses the gym under crystal chandeliers, and the Roman thermae include a glowing Himalayan salt room.
Restaurant
Tisaneria
Silver samovars line the marble counter, serving therapeutic herbal infusions inspired by the historic Benedictine abbeys of Ciociaria.
At the table
Tailored menus follow a strict Food as Medicine regimen, served in the sunlit glass conservatory without caffeine or alcohol.
How it began

Queen Margherita attended the palace's 1913 opening, celebrated with an airplane flyover, and the Italian royal family holidayed here the following summer.
