Elevated bushland safari camp
The camp translates African safari living to Australian bushland, where days run entirely off-grid to the rhythm of the creek.
“Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life with a glamping trip like no other at Paperbark Camp.”
What it’s good at

Bushland along Currambene Creek, with dining spotlighting local oysters and native ingredients.
What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
Also in Condé Nast Traveler.
Its African-inspired tents stand on platforms above the bush, and come complete with private open-air bathrooms with freestanding bathtubs.
Tucked away
A place apart: the property is the destination.
Currambene Creek borders the grounds for kayaking, and the coastal town of Huskisson is a fifteen-minute cycle away on camp bikes.
The rooms
Canvas walls roll up over polished hardwood floors to catch coastal breezes, screened against insects and opening wide to the canopy.
In-tent treatments
Visiting therapists deliver massages and bodywork directly to your tent deck, surrounded by the sounds of the bush.
Restaurant
The Gunyah
The timber lodge rises into the eucalyptus canopy, serving candlelit dinners and regional wines out on open-air verandas.
How it began

Conceived over sundowners on an African safari, the camp was built by Jeremy and Irena Hutchings on 100 acres of protected bushland.
