The house
MarriottVertical garden tower
This business-district hotel is built inside an enormous glasshouse, where open staircases thread through a canopy of palms.
What it’s good at
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Plaça d'Europa's glass towers surround the property, and the nearby metro runs straight into central Barcelona.

The rooms
Bedrooms stick to minimalist white furnishings and lime-plaster bathrooms. Selected rooms look out through windows shaped like palm fronds.
The rooftop pool
Bring a swimsuit.
The 20-metre unheated pool runs along a wooden rooftop deck bordered by daybeds and palm trees.
The hydro pool and gym
An indoor hydro pool has water massage jets and an adjacent hot tub. Upstairs, a 26th-floor gym overlooks the city.
Palmer Restaurant
On the fourteenth floor, the kitchen serves Mediterranean dishes among living palms inside the glazed atrium.
At the table
On the ground floor, OASIS Lobby Bar pours cocktails and drinks, and the breakfast room hosts the morning buffet.
How it began

Conceived as a vertical greenhouse, the building was engineered to sustain nearly three hundred palms across twenty-seven floors.

The city grew up with it. Same rituals, same regulars, same bar.

Where things happen: restaurants, shops, people.
