Royal Indochine residence
The former royal compound operates like an aristocratic family estate, arranged around quiet courtyards and lotus ponds.
What it’s good at
Notable
Indochine colonial architecture filled with carved balustrades and the owner's antique textile collection.
What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
The old house, meticulously preserved, still stands as a monument to classic Indochine design — and in fact the hotel’s flagship Satri House suites are found here in the original structure.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Quiet village streets surround the property, with the Mekong River and old town temples an easy walk away.
The rooms
Rooms have polished timber floors and four-poster beds draped in netting, opening onto the garden courtyards.
The pools
Bring a swimsuit.
A green lap pool stretches beside brick sun terraces, and an indoor plunge pool sits under yellow tiles.
The spa
Floor mattresses line the yellow-walled treatment rooms beside the lily pond for traditional Lao massages.
At the table
Verandas overlook the lotus pond for seasonal Lao royal dishes, and the green bar salon mixes botanical cocktails.
How it began

The name means 'House of Women', chosen by Lao collector Lamphoune Voravongsa when she restored the compound in 2002.
