Shanti Maurice, a set of huge, thoroughly decked-out, ocean-facing suites and villas, is already there on the southern coast of Mauritius.
Tucked away
A place apart: the property is the destination.
Sugarcane fields surround the southern coast of Saint Felix, where quiet beaches give way to volcanic headlands and offshore reefs.

The rooms
Ground-floor suites open to private gardens with outdoor showers, while thatched villas have their own courtyards and swimming pools.
The pools
Bring a swimsuit.
Stone fountain spouts line the outdoor spa lap pool, and private villa pools reach up to 36 square metres.
The spa
Treatment rooms look onto garden courtyards through floor-to-ceiling glass, with dedicated suites for couples and scrub treatments.
The gym
Technogym equipment sits beneath high timber beams in the gym, where full-height windows look onto garden reflecting pools.
At the table
The rustic Rum Shed pours over 250 rums beside the beach, and open-air decks face the ocean at Stars.
Sprawling along 36 acres of Mauritius’ pristine southern coast, the property feels like it jumped straight out of your Instagram feed: lush tropical gardens lead to a private white-sand beach.
How it began

The team behind Ananda in the Himalayas created the estate in 2006 to bring Vedic wellness traditions to coastal Mauritius.
