Private guided walks through Hanson Bay Sanctuary alongside menus featuring Kangaroo Island honey and oysters.
On the coastal limestone clifftops of Hanson Bay, surrounded by coastal wilderness and national parkland.
Rooms
Sunken lounges and freestanding tubs step down to private terraces, where floor-to-ceiling glass faces uninterrupted ocean swells without a television in sight.
Wellness
An outdoor cedar sauna and hot and cold plunge pools sit tucked into coastal scrub, alongside an edgeless clifftop lap pool.
Backstory
After bushfires leveled the original 2008 retreat, Kangaroo Island native Max Pritchard returned to redesign and rebuild the clifftop lodge from scratch.
Eat & drink
Four-course dinners in the Great Room showcase American River oysters and local honey, paired with bottles from a walk-in South Australian cellar.
The neighborhood
Boardwalks lead directly into Hanson Bay's coastal wilderness, with sea lion colonies and the wind-sculpted granite boulders of Remarkable Rocks nearby.
